The Greater Learning Program (GLP) is a Positive Behavior Support Program designed to provide all students with opportunities to self-monitor their daily performances. The program is specifically designed for school-aged students who have been suspended for five or more days; and we also have programs available for those that have been suspended long-term or expelled. This behavioral program enables each student to focus on a variety of intrinsic means to reduce reproachful decisions.
In the end, all students will be enlightened on a diverse array of solutions available to them for character, community and family building; and above all, each person will have the knowledge on how to utilize GLP principles to truly transform their global society.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Greater Learning Program is very simplistic in nature. Each student is awarded points daily for meeting the standards set by the VCDC Administration. All points are totaled at the end of their stay with us and awards are provided at a special ceremony.
The awards may come in the form of Dove Dollars which can be used to purchase a variety of items that range from bus and lunch passes to fee reduction.
In the event that a student does not achieve a pre-determined point range, additional time is assigned in GLP to increase the point total. Upon an assignment into GLP a student must adhere to the outlined standards below. There is a *scheduled fee for each student, with a minimum of three (3) days per assignment.
Time: 8:00-3:00
Location: The Education Center
*Payment: TBD (due upon assignment)
Program Guidelines:
